All four of my boys attended Good Shepherd Preschool and I wish they could have stayed there forever! It is a warm and welcoming environment for both children and parents. My children were prepared to enter kindergarten because of the amazing teachers at Good Shepherd. They do a wonderful job balancing between teaching and allowing the children to play. I can’t say enough wonderful things about the preschool we considered a home away from home.

Our Preschool Program

Play-Based, Child-Centered Curriculum Geared to Prepare Your Child for Kindergarten

At Good Shepherd Preschool, we believe that children learn best through play. Every day is filled with fun, interactive, hands-on activities to enrich your child's learning through art, math, science and music activities. The inside of our school is colorful and inviting. Our classrooms are filled with age-appropriate toys and activities designed to engage the preschool child. Imaginations bloom in our art rooms where children are encouraged to be creative and share ideas.

Small Student-to-Teacher Ratios

Our small class settings offer a nurturing, child-centered environment to foster social, emotional, and intellectual development of your child. We keep our teacher-to-student ratio to one teacher for six to seven children.

Roomy Play Areas - Inside and Out

We are located on four beautiful acres complete with a fully equipped playground that includes a beautiful Noah's Ark and a traditional play structure. During cold weather, we enjoy our spacious action room that provides the children a safe place to run, jump and have fun.

Safe & Secure Environment

All teachers have received First Aid and CPR training to help keep your child safe in the event of an emergency. Additionally all teachers have been background checked according to Pennsylvania law, including fingerprinting, a Child Abuse History Clearance, Criminal Records Check, and Criminal History Record. The doors to the church and preschool are always locked, or attended by a preschool staff member when doors are unlocked during drop-off, pick-up or outdoor recess times. Only pre-authorized persons may pick up children from our preschool. (A form is signed and submitted at the beginning of the year.)

Christian-Based Atmosphere

We believe that each child is a unique and special gift from God. We teach the children to love each other and treat others with compassion and understanding. Additionally, children participate in an age-appropriate Chapel Time two times per month led by Good Shepherd's pastor. During Chapel Time, the children sing songs and actively engage in a spiritual lesson. Children of all faiths and races are welcome at Good Shepherd Preschool.
