Music Ministry at GSLC
Music is a vibrant and integral part of worship and ministries at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. We joyfully invite members to share their musical talents.
Sanctuary Choir
The Sanctuary Choir sings every Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. service (September – May) and at the 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services on Palm, Easter, Reformation and All Saints’ Sundays. Additionally, the choir sings at the 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Christmas Eve services. The choir rehearses weekly on Tuesday evenings, 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., and Sunday mornings, 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., September through May. Part-time choir members are welcome.
Bell Choir and Liturgical Bells
The bells perform in services to enhance hymns, anthems, psalms and liturgy. The Bell Choir performs at both services on Easter, Reformation and Christmas Eve services. Additionally, the Bell Choir performs at two to three other services. The Bell Choir rehearses weekly on Tuesday evenings, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., September through May. Part-time members are welcome!
Children’s Choir
The Children’s Choir rehearses during Sunday School from 9:15 to 9:30 a.m. and sings the third Sunday of each month at the 10:30 a.m. service, September through May. During Advent, children present the annual Christmas Pageant at the 10:30 a.m. service.
Special Music
Started in 2006, the Special Music Fund allows professional musicians to perform at and enhance Good Shepherd’s worship services. Any donation amount can be made for future services, and some members have designated specific dates to honor loved ones with their donation. In the past, performers have played the violin, viola, flute, oboe, trumpet, and guitar, and vocalists have also performed. To make a donation toward the Special Music Fund, please contact the church office.
