October 20 at 7:30 p.m.

About Etta Cox

Etta Cox has been voted “Best Jazz Vocalist” in Pittsburgh for eight consecutive years. She received the Harry Schwalb Award for Excellence in the Arts, was selected as one of the 25 MOST POWERFUL WOMEN IN PITTSBURGH by Pittsburgh Magazine, voted Performer of the Year by the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, received Talk Magazine’s 2008 Walt Harper All that Jazz Award, 2001 Arts and Letters Award from the YWCA and Lifetime Achievement Award from Covenant Church on the Hill for 2008.

Ms. Cox earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Music and Voice from Mt. St. Scholastic College and also attended Missouri University. She taught in the St. Louis, Missouri school district for three years before moving to Pittsburgh. Ms. Cox is currently a Voice and Solfeggio teacher at CAPA (Creative and Performing Arts High School).
