Third Sunday of Easter At-Home Service for April 26

This week’s Gospel reading we hear about two disciples on the road to Emmaus.  After the fact they discovered Jesus had been with them in their journey.

We’ve created a fun way for you to engage more with the service and lean into the readings and what we know as Lutherans. Follow the service and then join in the challenge and see if you can correctly answer the question below:

Can you find which the passage from one of the readings for this week that is quoted in the Small Catechism of Martin Luther and where in the Catechism it is quoted?

Post your answer to the Facebook post or email the answer to the church office GSLC_Office@gslcfc.org. All correct submissions will be entered into a drawing for a free copy of The Book of Concord:  The Confessions of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Pastor Rike’s Sermon

The Scriptures proclaim what God has done for us through Jesus.  Sometimes we slow-down in order to be attentive to Scripture and study it in detail. But, we hope we are also quick with excitement to do what is commanded in the Bible. By engaging the text of the Bible our hearts are changed. We trust that through the Scriptures the Holy Spirit will open our hearts to encounter risen Jesus to glory of the God he called Father.
