GSLC Suspends All In-person Activities Including Worship Services

Dear Friends,

Late last week I wrote about how our congregation was responding to the presence of COVID-19. One of the things mentioned was to follow guidance from the CDC as well as local Public Health authorities.

As many of you are aware, both the Federal Government and Allegheny County have asked all non-essential businesses to close and that gatherings be limited to 10 people or less. Following this guidance the Congregation Council and I believe it is best to suspend all in-person church activities including services of worship.

For as long as we are not able to be together in person, resources will be provided using email, our website, social media channels to help sustain and nurture Christian faith as best we can. Information about when we will be able to resume worshipping together will also be shared as soon as we have it.

It is even more important than ever that we continue to read Scripture and pray for each other and the world every day. If there are ways you think I can be of help during this time, please do not hesitate to contact me by phone, text, or email.

With confidence in Christ’s love for all of us,
Pastor Rike
