Council Update – May 2, 2016

Pastor Richard Neumann continues to bless us with his pastoral gifts while we search for a permanent pastor. He will serve us for as long as we need. Formally, we contracted his services for six months, after which we will adjust terms based on where Good Shepherd is in the pastoral call process. We are extremely grateful for his guidance, support, and flexibility and look forward to his continued inspiration.

Our committees are busy with congregational activities and we have a lot to do to prepare for our new spiritual leader. Continue your prayers for the Council, the Call Committee, and all of Good Shepherd as we face these challenges together. Here’s what we’ve been up to:

Stewardship, Myra Toomey (chair) hosting a Pot Luck Dinner on Sunday, June 5 at 5:00 p.m. in the Social Hall.
Christian Education, Lauren Spencer (chair) offering Vacation Bible School “Surf Shack” evenings Sunday, July 10 – Thursday, July 14.
Evangelism, Larry Reuss (chair) arranging Faith Night at the Pirates game on Wednesday, July 20.
