Sunday School classes for children in and near Fox Chapel
We welcome children age two through high school to attend our Sunday School classes from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Sunday mornings during the school-year.
Age 2 – Grade 4
Children age two through grade four meet at 9:15 a.m. in the Sanctuary where we:
- Collect an offering to help raise money to buy ELCA Good Gifts for global communities in need.
- Read a short Bible story and talk about it.
- Learn new songs to sing during the 10:30 a.m. worship service on the third Sunday of each month.
At 9:30 a.m., the children walk to their Sunday School classrooms where they are divided into three different groups: Preschool, Grades K – 2, and Grades 3 – 4. We use the Sparkhouse – Activate Faith curriculum where kids explore the Old Testament each fall and the New Testament in the winter and spring. Each Sunday, children engage in exploring the Bible and fun, hands-on activities.
All of our Sunday School teachers have been background checked according to Pennsylvania law and have their clearances on file with the church.
Grade 5 – 8
Children in grades five through eight meet at 9:15 a.m. for Confirmation Class with the Pastor.
High School students can join our Adult Bible Study class at 9:15 a.m. in the conference room. Or, they can assist Sunday School teachers and use these hours toward volunteer hours for school.
