Meet Rev. Robert W. Strobel – Our New Interim Pastor at Worship and Coffee Hour – Aug. 13

Please join us on Sunday, August 13 at 9:00 a.m. to welcome our new interim pastor – Pastor Strobel – during worship and coffee hour.

Rev. Robert W. Strobel was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Rev. & Mrs. George W. Strobel. He is a graduate of Capital University, Columbus, Ohio and the Lutheran Theological Seminary (now Trinity Seminary) in Columbus. He did a year of theological internship in a German-Lutheran congregation in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The pastor has done his continuing education at Princeton Theological Seminary.

His first call was to First Lutheran Church in Baltimore, a congregation he served for seven years. In 1969, he was called to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Perrysville in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. He served that congregaion for 32 years and retired in 2001. In retirement he has served ten of our Synod’s congregations as Interim Pastor.

This spring, the Synod asked Pr. Strobel to serve Good Shepherd as Interim Pastor. He met with members of the Church Council on June 12th.
