Give Thanks. Serve Others. Pre-Packing Thanksgiving Boxes for Local Families

On Wednesday, November 20, volunteers from Good Shepherd packed Thanksgiving boxes for the Lower Valley Community Food Bank in Springdale.

The evening started off with a quick meal of pizza and salad.  With 18 volunteers, we filled the boxes in less than an hour. All types of non-perishables and canned goods for completing a Thanksgiving feast were included in the 80 boxes we packed.

The director, Kathy Otterbeck, said that the number of boxes needed this year was less than previous years, which is good news for our greater community.   Eighteen big “Thank You’s” go out to Shawn Essey, Eric, Tera, Joshua, Rachel, and Aaron Higgins, Sherri Mohn, Lynne Bryan, Meredith, Ainsley, and Felicity Anderson, Dee Stathis, Pastor Rike, Bill, Will, and Jean Pazman, Dan and Vickie Wille.  Setting aside an hour or two to serve others in our community was a great way start a season of thanksgiving.
