125th Anniversary Celebration Kicks Off

Built on a Rock

Throughout scripture, rocks are referred to as a symbol of God’s reliability.  The Bible advises that we build our houses and lives upon the stable rock that is God’s love, wisdom and salvation.

A Season of Celebration

May 3 is Good Shepherd Sunday and the day we chose to celebrate the 125th Anniversary of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.  For obvious reasons, those plans have been changed, but we’re still going to kick off a season of celebration to commemorate our momentous anniversary. We’ll be engaging in activities that focus on our history, our future and our mission.

First Activity

Here’s the first activity for each family or individual:
Gather 3-5 rocks that are located on either side of the stairs/doorway of the church. Decorate the rocks with bible verses, inspiring words, passages or pictures – you can use markers, paints or whatever you’d like. Once painted, you can take them back to church and lay them next to the front door.  They will be collected, waterproofed and showcased on our website, Facebook and in our upcoming celebrations.

Built on a Rock Video

Built on a Rock! When Jesus is our rock, we can withstand any storm life brings. Our church was built on that solid foundation. Check out the “rocks” that we stand upon as created by you from our first family activity celebrating our 125th anniversary. Thank you to everyone that participated!
