GSLC Children Learning to Give this Advent & Christmas Season

This Advent and Christmas Season, the children at GSLC are sharing with children in need and crafting special gifts to give to the elderly.

Giving “Old to Us” Toys New Homes

Christian Education Director, Kristen Gulakowski, read the story, “FOUND,” to children in grades Preschool through five.

Through reading the story, the children learned that special toys still have much life in them even when children stop playing with them.

Kristen asked the children to find one to two toys that they no longer play with to make a donation to Play It Forward, an organization that collects gently used toys and then offers them free to families who are in need or might be having a tough year.

Please help your child participate in this wonderful lesson in charitable giving!

Christmas Ornaments for the Elderly

The children are also busy at work creating Christmas tree and gingerbread ornaments for the residents at the Passavant Retirement Community and for Meals on Wheels recipients.
